I remember that there is a special publication house named Charnel House, which sells special editions of books by authors like Stephen King, et al. I wonder if they got their name from Masterson's book?

Possibly. But given that a charnel house is a depository for bodies, I suppose it's just as likely to be a name chosen for it's macabre value.

Have started rereading From A Buick 8. It's one of my favorite King books and I'm hooked from page one again.

I finished Duma Key a couple of days ago. It was pretty slow paced after having come off of Under the Dome but I liked it. And the pace really went into high gear for the last 100 pages or so. It was kind of-and I hate using this phrase in regards to a Stephen King book- haunting.
My only gripe was that I would have liked to have known more about the nature of the entity that was causing such trouble. It's origins and so forth.

Just got this off of Rotten Tomatoes. Don't know how I feel about it:
#1 RON HOWARD FINDS HIS OWN FANTASY TRILOGY IN THE DARK TOWER The writing/producing team of J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were long considering adapting Stephen King's The Dark Tower series of seven novels as their next big post-LOST project, but eventually gave up on the project. That move made way for Ron Howard, his Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer and Weed Road (Jonah Hex, The Losers), who are now in discussions with Universal Pictures to adapt King's fantasy magnum opus. The Dark Tower is being envisioned as both a film trilogy and then later , a television series. Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, How the Grinch Stole Christmas) will direct the three movies, and Akiva Goldsman (Batman & Robin, Lost in Space) is attached to adapt the seven books into just three movies. The Dark Tower is sometimes compared to J.R.R. Tokien's Lord of the Rings, but the saga is better described as a sort of cowboy fantasy, following the adventures of the last remaining member of an order of gunslingers in an alternate reality that combines magic and elements of the Old West. Elements and characters of (and similarities to) The Dark Tower can also be found in many of Stephen King's other novels, including The Stand, Insomnia and The Eyes of the Dragon.

There is a new Stephen King novella, just out in hardbook, titled Blockade Billy. It's (according to Amazon) a story about one of the world's best and least known, baseball players in the 1950s, who of course has a dark secret. Also in the book is King's short story from Esquire magazine last year, "Morality."
Amazon also shows the cover to a new King hardback novel coming in November, with the title of Full Dark, No Stars. There is no description of what the tale is about. I'll sneak over to the King website and see if there are any clues. The Blockade Billy book, according to some of the readers, was only announced a month or two before its release. Don't know why, but it's received generally good reviews except for some carping about the price for a smallish book, which sells for $8.99 at Amazon. I personally don't think that's a lot of money for a new novella and a short story, but then that's me.
